New UI Features in SODA 4.0:

  1. The application’s most common messages now have the option of being individually deactivated by the user via a checkbox control located in the message dialog. When the checkbox is activated, the user’s response to the message is saved and the program will not show that message again but rather take action based on the saved response of the user. The options are persistent in subsequent sessions of SODA. The user can choose to view all the messages again via a General menu item.
  2. New action toolbars are now available for the most frequently used menus: Structure, Loads and Output. The toolbars can be activated or deactivated via the General/Toolbars menu.
  3. Batch Printing. A new menu option is now available for the user to select a number of output reports to print all at once. One option is to print them all. Member diagrams are not part of this batch print capability.
  4. The StructureTopology’s View Options and Text Options dialogs each feature a "Save as default for new files" checkbox that allows the user to keep the selected options for new SODA projects.
  5. New help menu item to e-mail soda support directly
  6. New menu item action descriptions in status bar.
  7. Double-click Zoom is now available in Select Mode too.

Bugfixes for known issues in SODA 3.5:

  1. The zoomed-in view no longer gets reset when the mode or the graphics options are changed.
  2. The Structure Topology menu items are now checked according to their current status for a subsequent project open in the same session of SODA.
  3. The "File…New" menu item is now active at the program start-up.
  4. The "Structure…View" menu item now re-opens the Structure Topology window after closing it for an empty project.
  5. Cancelled actions on File Open, File SaveAs, File Import, and File Export, followed by the menu action Print Topology no longer cause SODA to crash.
